Has the education sector improved, as they say? Just because a tab has been provided, has the rest of the problems solved? But, as they promised has everyone got one? Who are they fooling?
It is the responsibility of the country's rulers to facilitate the enrich the future children with knowledge. It is a matter of great concern to the masses of the country as to what they are now claiming that education has been improved by providing all the necessary resources and human resources to schools. It is a well-known secret that there is only so little to boast of.
Despite the fact that the nearest school is the best school, still there are schools without even principals in this country. But the question that arises is, the things that this government screams and shouts about what they have done, who have they done it for?
We have all seen the fate that had to be faced by a school that is nearly 80 years old in the Ratnapura area. How many more schools are out there in the country just like them? Every single child has the right to education. There is no difference from the Colombo school children to the village school children. All have the same right to learn. It is the responsibility of the government to protect the same rights and provide for the village and the town equally. First of all, shouldn't the government focus on developing the poor schools for a better environment to learn in? Does the rulers not understand such small things that we all understand because they do not know the value of proper education? Is it because our country is being ruled by people who have a minimum qualification for education?
