During the previous government, the Rupavahini Corporation made a gross profit of Rs. 441 million in the year of 2014. But in the year of 2015, Rs. 244 million profits have been deducted from the profitability of the Rupavahini Corporation and due to political victimization and expulsion, skilled employees have been subjected to from the Corporation. However, even though profits are low, expenses have increased by an amount of Rs. 338 million because of the increasing number of jobs with packages that are being provided to Mangala's UNP supporters. Mangala has given broadcasting rights to his media friends outside the tender process, so that the journalists would be under control of him, and in support of this and the scam to exploit the public's money Inoka Sathyangani and Mangala's sleeping partner Thusitha Halloluwa had provided a great support.
Due to these exploits, the revenue of the Rupavahini Corporation is decreasing by 1.4% every year. As of today, salaries of the employees of the Rupavahini Corporation are unable to be paid.
