Yahapalanaya (Good Governance), came into power in January on the 8th of 2015 through the Likes & Comments of the Youths on Facebook and ousted the then reign. But, young and old undivided confirms the saying “Awi Gaththo Awiyenma Nasi” which means “Gunmen kills themselves”, the mantra to send this worthless government home is repeated day and night. The government knew for all what they had done throughout the four years would not look good on them for the upcoming election. Due to that reason, not only are they controlling the national media but also social media from the money they had robbed or stolen from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. Six million Facebook users accounts today are being controlled by the government.
Iraj known as one of the most prominent singers in Sri Lanka, has a number of 1.1 million fans on Facebook. Due to certain statements made by him regarding the present government, his Facebook page was blocked on a demand made by a low life minister in the parliament. Even during his father’s time, pistols in the mouth of journalists and media persons wasn’t anything new even then. If he is this way before having power in his hands, what would it be like after power? Since Facebook has become such a big threat to the present government, plans have been made to ban Facebook before the election. If you can remember, during the past few years the government has had such training and if they have any plans to do so the reason and main topic they would use would be “Because children are being spoilt, we are banning social media.”
The government has an ache more towards Facebook, more towards the children who lost their lives to the Easter Sunday Attack. In China, Facebook has been banned by the government because of the protests made against them. But instead of using Facebook an app called “ren ren” has been created under the control of the government where they decide what the public should and shouldn’t see and also the government has access to all accounts and authority to block whenever they want. Such plans are already being discussed in the present government. This so called “YAHAPALANAYA” very well knows their days are coming to an end and because of that Mangala and Sajith has created dreams of becoming Prime Minister and President in the upcoming election. In order for that dream to be achieved deals, deals are being taken place between the two.
Let’s stand against this YAHAPALANAYA government and gain the DEMOCRACY our country deserves.
