Broken Promises Made During a Catastrophe….

It's been over a month after the fire, but still no relief has been provided to them. Initial arrangements have not yet been made by the Ministry of Fisheries and the Minister in charge of the subject who had promised to provide relief for the 26 fishing vessels that were set on fire or to the fishermen at the Kalametiya Fisheries Harbor. Is this just another broken promise made by the Yahapalana politicians...?

Over one hundred fishermen had become helpless during this calamity. Its because they are not wealthy people, but those who work hard to make a living to find their meals just for a day and have a hard time making a living. For them, Fishery is the only way for them to find a living. If they are unable to do it, how can they live without it?

Among them, are a group of people who have taken loans to purchase boats to find a way of living. There are also people among them with various diseases. And the only source of income for them for the cost of their medicine is through fishery. Did we vote the Yahapalana government into power so that they can make broken promises to innocent people and take the power of the votes provided by the citizens so that they could do such disasters to the country? If that is the case, let us all join hands to give our votes in the next presidential election to a person who will be a blessing to future generations!
